Conference - ‘Restoring Lake Ecosystems’

A conference organised by World Water Week, which provided a forum to discuss the key purpose of the Position Paper “Embedding Lakes into Global Sustainability” produced by the World Water Quality Alliance Ecosystems Workstream, and how to provide a road for the global protection and restoration of lakes. The conference proposed actions for sustainable lake management, such as:

  • building capacity in monitoring and assessment;

  • embedding lakes management in national policies;

  • fostering green finance partners;

  • and raising global awareness of the benefits of change.
